ICANN Manager of Public Participation: MIA or RIP?

Topic: ICANN Staff and Structure

ehasbrouck writes "ICANN's erstwhile Acting General Manager, Communications and Public Participation, Kieran Baker, has apparently left ICANN to join the staff of al-Jazeera's new English-language television network.

Mr. Baker's hiring by al-Jazeera was reported 13 January 2006 in a UPI news story, and his name was quietly removed 15 January 2006 from the page on the ICANN Web site listing ICANN staff.

So far as I can tell from diligent search of the ICANN Web site, Mr. Baker's former position with ICANN has not been filled, and it's not listed on ICANN's Staff Opportunities Web page -- even though it is required by Article III, Section 3, of ICANN's Bylaws."
