Topic: Lawsuits and Judicial Decisions

Steve Smith reports: Entrepreneur magazine claims that ALL entrepreneur-related domain names violate their trademark rights. A NY Times article accuses Entrepreneur Magazine of "playing hardball to stop entrepreneurs from using the word entrepreneur." Additional information about this subject is available at Entrepreneur.net, a website of just one of the small businesses that Entrepreneur magazine has attacked just for using the word "entrepreneur."

A cease-and-desist letter they sent to the owner of www.EntrepreneursTV.com claims that the domain constitutes "trademark infringement, unfair competition, deceptive acts and practices, and misappropriation of the valuable goodwill and reputation" of Enterpreneurs Media Inc. Several leading publications have reported on this subject, including The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Forbes and BusinessWeek). After all this absurdity, Entrepreneurs Media won't have any goodwill left to "misappropriate."

Be careful if you use "Easy" in a domain name, too.
