Topic: Lawsuits and Judicial Decisions

Michael Geist's BNA Internet Law News reports "the Supreme Court of NY, First Appellate Division has dismissed an attempt to expand a class action launched against Register.com over its domain name registration renewal practices," and noted that "of interest is the court's conclusion that "a domain name that is not trademarked or patented is not personal property, but rather a contract right that cannot exist separate and apart from the services performed by a registrar."

The ruling can be found here.
