ccNSO Agreement Reached
Date: Thursday June 26 2003, @05:46AM
Topic: Country-Code Top Level Domains (ccTLDs)

ICANN's country code "Steering Committee" has reached an agreement with the country code operators regarding the structure of a ccNSO and the process of creating a ccNSO. The Board has passed a resolution on it but no links to documents are available yet. We have second-hand information from a perennially optimistic source that the agreement restricts ICANN's role in CCTLD regulation to the compatibility of name servers, and contains no requirement to follow ICANN WHOIS and UDRP policies.
