What makes you think that they DO read their own site. The fact that some underling posts the statements that come into icann.org via email doesn't mean that the president and the directors are involved in the process. It's not like Vint or Hans are ICANN's web developers. And they care even less what people think.
Isn't that abundantly clear?

Yes, that's exactly what I am saying. Maybe once in a while one of the egomaniac staff, Directors, or CEO will scan various portions of the site, only looking for their respective names in print. They can't stay away from that stuff ... they love to read about how important they are. But they pay no attention to content, least of all content provided by anyone whose name they fail to recognize as a "stakeholder".
