Dan (and esteemed editors), if PHP-Nuke supports it, I'd suggest setting the default view that greets visitors to a +1 threshold, which would have largely the same effect as banning anon posts. It beats having to later go thru and mod irrelevance down to -1. BTW, if PHP-Nuke allows it, I think nested and newest first would make for a better default view as well. |
I know that all of these settings can be set as a default by each individual for themselves once signed in, and generally prefer to do my own filtering (my default is -1), but ICANNWatch is in danger of being modded to irrelevance to most visitors by the actions of a few. The few controlling the many is an ICANN trick used to effect in many other venues and in many other ways. There's no reason it should be left to run free here as well.
For those anons who might cry that their freedom of speech is absolute, I suggest they try doing so thru a bullhorn in a hospital at 3 am. They could then be legally bound, gagged, shot full of anti-psychotics, and left in a rubber room to hum to themselves. Resetting the defaults (or otherwise modding if that isn't an option) is humane by comparison, except they won't get a free high. -g
