The site seems intentionally deceptive, never once identifying any person or company behind the effort. Even the whois record (copied below) is designed to hide that information, as it was registered in the name of the new entity's lawyers. The registration contact is Nick Lockett, an associate at the firm of Stanbrook & Hooper, who writes in his firm biography that he "operates the anti-piracy and domain protection regimes for a number of international companies." Except for one post by Nigel Roberts, all of the posts on the caneu.be message board come either from "stanbrook.com" or Mr. Lockett himself. So it just may be that the new entity was created by Stanbrook & Hooper itself. (Hey, it worked for Jones, Day!).
