    Verisign RegistRAR has over 130,000 registrations in .info. At $35, its revenues from just .info rival that of the entire .info registry. Who takes the credit for this?

    Of course, if we go ahead and take into account the 150,000 .biz registrations Verisign registRAR also has, well it is quite obvious that this single registrar doubles the revenues of each of these 2 new registRIES for just the biz and info TLD's alone.

    From a profit perspective, it certainly stands to reason that each registRY has greater costs - and vulnerability of course - than does any particular registRAR (this means that not only does Verisign registRAR double the revenues of each, but its percentage profit margin to total revenue for just .info and.biz is far greater as well).

    This was an interesting way to propose (i.e. the spread between wholesale and retail pricing) of how to attack a monopoly with a huge headstart as part of the "proof-of-concept" where "stability" of the registry was supposedly first and foremost concern. If Verisign is able to obtain $35 retail, could not Afilias have proposed $15 wholesale towards 1) greater long term stability and 2) making some headway on the former monopoly? Is it that Afilias did not understand this when making their proposal? Does anyone consider their proposal today to be a sound business model (in light of what was to be accomplished in terms of gTLD market competition)? Is it that the evaluators were not qualified to evaluate the business models of the 44 applicants in relation to the entire landscape?

    Now, who is taking the credit for all this again?
