Anyway I was about to close by saying that the interest that the registries have is via contracts with ICANN and is derivative of ICANN's interest in those TLDs.
If ICANN were to lose that interest then the registries would, as a consequence, be left with nothing (except a legal claim against ICANN.)
By-the-way, Danny Younger's question about the removal of material from actual ICANN forums has not yet been answered. We understand that you removed some potentially objectionable or irrelevant material from the blog. But we are not asking about the blog but, rather, about the actual ICANN comment forums.
