Agreed. Although you can reset your mod level to not show Anons that means you don't see any of them and some are worthwhile.|
As for having to publish one's name, while one can figure out mine (and Dan's), that's what we happened to choose. There is no reason that one cannot become and post under UserID zzzendpadfoo and otherwise remain anonymous. At least then the netkook Anon(s) can be more easily recognized (and even scripts written to parse them out). It is similar to editorial consistency in the newspaper biz, at least you know what is coming from the same source(s). Of course the nutbar(s) could come up with multiple IDs but that would at least slow them down.
ICANNWatch is little different from a blog, many of which require a signin to stop spam postings, as does (what I see as) ICW sister site CircleID [circleid.com]. I used to be opposed to banning Anon postings here, just like I used to be opposed to moderating listservs or Usenet newsgroups, but circumstances change. -g
