    Naming Policy

    Racial/Ethnic
    This category includes both clear and masked names which:

        * Have any racial/ethnic connotations

    If a player is found to have such a name for their character, guild, or pet, he/she may:

        * Be assigned a randomly generated temporary name, to be changed via email
        * Be temporarily suspended from the game
        * Be placed on Final Warning if any negative sentiment/language is present

    While these repercussions may seem harsh, we feel very strongly that these names have no place within the world of Azeroth due to their extremely offensive nature.
    Extreme Sexuality/Violence
    This category includes both clear and masked names which:

        * Refer to extreme and/or violent sexual acts
        * Refer to extremely violent real life actions

    If a player is found to have such a name for their character, guild, or pet, he/she may:

        * Be assigned a randomly generated temporary name, to be changed via email
        * Be temporarily suspended from the game
        * Be placed on Final Warning

    While these repercussions may seem harsh, we feel very strongly that these names have no place within the world of Azeroth due to their extremely offensive nature.
    National
    This category includes both clear and masked names which:

        * Have any national connotations

    If a player is found to have such a name for their character, guild, or pet, he/she may:

        * Be assigned a randomly generated temporary name, to be changed via email
        * Be given a warning
        * Be temporarily suspended if any negative sentiment/language is present

    Sexual Orientation
    This category includes both clear and masked names which:

        * Refer to any aspect of sexual orientation pertaining to themselves or other players

    If a player is found to have such a name for their character, guild, or pet, he/she may:

        * Be assigned a randomly generated temporary name, to be changed via email
        * Be temporarily suspended from the game

    Obscene/Vulgar
    This category includes both clear and masked names which:

        * Are inappropriate references to human anatomy or bodily functions
        * Are pornographic in nature

    If a player is found to have such a name for their character, guild, or pet, he/she may:

        * Be assigned a randomly generated temporary name, to be changed via email
        * Be temporarily suspended from the game

    Harassing or Defamatory
    This category includes both clear and masked names which:

        * Insultingly refer to other characters, players, Blizzard employees, or groups of people, be they in the game or external

    If a player is found to have such a name for their character, guild, or pet, he/she may:

        * Be assigned a randomly generated temporary name, to be changed via email
        * Be given a warning

    Major Religions or Major Religious Figures
    This category includes both clear and masked names which:

        * Is based on or alludes to major religions or religious figures (i.e. Jesus, Christianity, Buddha)

    If a player is found to have such a name for their character, guild, or pet, he/she may:

        * Be assigned a randomly generated temporary name, to be changed via email
        * Be given a warning

    Blizzard Employees
    This category includes both clear and masked names which are:

        * The names of any World of Warcraft customer support representative or employee of Blizzard Entertainment (Both real names and aliases)

    If a player is found to have such a name for their character, guild, or pet, he/she may:

        * Be assigned a randomly generated temporary name, to be changed via email
        * Be given a warning

    Inappropriate
    This category includes both clear and masked names which:

        * Are mildly inappropriate references to human anatomy or bodily functions
        * Are otherwise considered objectionable

    If a player is found to have such a name for their character, guild, or pet, he/she may:

        * Be assigned a randomly generated temporary name, to be changed via email
        * Be given a warning

    Illegal Drugs or Activities
    This category includes both clear and masked names which:

        * Refer to illegal drugs
        * Refer to illegal activities

    If a player is found to have such a name for their character, guild, or pet, he/she may:

        * Be assigned a randomly generated temporary name, to be changed via email
        * Be given a warning

    Advertising
    This category includes names which advertise:

        * Any non-beneficial, non-WoW related businesses, organizations, or websites

    If a player is found to have such a name for their character, guild, or pet, he/she may:

        * Be assigned a randomly generated temporary name, to be changed via email
        * Be given a warning

    Trademarks
    This category includes both clear and masked names which:

        * Are trademarked/licensed by a company or an individual

    If a player is found to have such a name for their character, guild, or pet, and the trademark owner protests its use, he/she may:

        * Be assigned a randomly generated temporary name, to be changed via email

    Real World References
    This category includes both clear and masked names which:

        * Are references to very well known people, characters, places, or icons (i.e. Britneyspears, Austinpowers, Mcdonalds, Georgewashington, Newyork)

    If a player is found to have such a name for their character, guild, or pet, he/she may:

        * Be assigned a randomly generated temporary name, to be changed via email

    Partial or Complete Sentences
    This category includes names which:

        * Consist of multiple (generally more than 2) words strung together to create partial or complete sentences (i.e. Inyourface, Welovebeef, Howareyou)

    If a player is found to have such a name for their character or pet, he/she may:

        * Be assigned a randomly generated temporary name, to be changed via email

    Pure Gibberish
    This category includes names which:

        * Consist of a string of letters which do not produce a pronounceable name (i.e. Asdfasdf, Jjxccm, Hvlldrm)

    If a player is found to have such a name for their character, guild, or pet, he/she may:

        * Be assigned a randomly generated temporary name, to be changed via email

    Contain "Leet" or "Dudespeak"
    This category includes names which:

        * Consist of language existent only in online communication (i.e. Roflcopter, xxnewbxx, Roxxoryou)

    If a player is found to have such a name for their character, guild, or pet, he/she may:

        * Be assigned a randomly generated temporary name, to be changed via email

    Titles
    Fantasy titles should be earned through the mechanics of the game, and should not be recreated through character naming. This category includes names which:

        * Consist of any title prefix attached to a character's name be it fantasy-based or not (i.e. Kingmike, Presidentsanchez)

    If a player is found to have such a name for their character he/she may:

        * Be assigned a randomly generated temporary name, to be changed via email
