If you don't get the Kent Crispin ICANN job reference, or don't see how you could conceivably be him (he's done stranger things, like impersonate Jeff Williams except he should have first run the text thru a randomizer to ensure spelling errors), then I won't waste time trying to explain it.|
I'm not knocking your .web pre-registrations, although if you were doing that with the hopes of quick resale(s), I question your business sense. I registered one .web name which equated to a CNO and .ca name I have had and used for many years. I wouldn't have bothered with .web except that it made for a nice play on words with my sLD. I didn't lose much, it was worth a minor gamble.
As for being a Harvey Milktoast [sic [wikipedia.org]], I am reminded of the canadian.biz case [icannwatch.org] in which a Canadian court brushed aside a UDRP ruling as though it wasn't worth the electrons in was printed with. I will also point out my earlier musings on non-US courts and legislation and the ICANN WHOIS policies here [icannwatch.org] (as that after all was what the article was about, not .web). How very American or Australian (even if you're not) of you to think foreign institutions are just going to roll over and play dead on the say so of some virtual supragovernment. I can just imagine the dim view that such courts and legislatures will take of ICANN's hijinks, particularily if the whole sordid history of ICANN's handling of the WHOIS question is laid out before them. It will only take one such public court or government involvement for the world to again see that the Emperor has no clothes.
As for Christopher Ambler, I've known literally thousands of people online in one fashion or another and there are few I would consider more trustworthy, clued, or hardworking (at least insofar as the .web application and ICANN are concerned, I don't otherwise know of him). I do agree with you that smoking cigars in a new home is regrettable, but for reasons such as health and house resale value, which have less than zero to do with WHOIS or even ICANN. If you have more specific and ontopic allegations please post them, or like I said, get over it. -g
