Antarctica (.aq) has a TLD simply because the UN added it to ISO3166-1 many years ago. It actually does have a few registrations and is administered on a free basis by an AUckland, NZ company.

"does that mean we have to join the .eu?"
Canada has several directions to head, away from .CAlifornia. .EH is one direction
and the other direction is of course .CA.EU which is apparently the long-term deal that was made. People want to reduce the load on the root servers by reducing the number of TLDs. ICANN of course wants the TLDs that send them large checks.

When ICANN Moves .COM to their Island Nation, Call .COM belongs to a small island nation off the coast of Africa. The ICANN Staff will soon have enough cash to buy the entire place if they merge with ARIN. They can set up their own defense system to keep the French from coming on shore and killing the locals, as they currently do. What is France doing in Africa ? Don't they have enough problems in Europe ?
