While you are on the topic of U.S. laws, you might want to consider how the Registrars, Registries and ICANN intend to work out the 75 cent ICANN .NET taxes.
ICANN claims to be non-profit, but they clearly operate like other for-profit .COM companies.
Despite what ICANN is, the Registrars have the right to deduct their 75 cent fee as a DONATION to a valid non-profit company.
Is ICANN the kind of non-profit company that can accept tax-deductable donations ? Not all non-profit companies fall into that category.
If ICANN is instead just collecting taxes for the U.S. Government, then State and Local governments will likely want their cut.
Stay tuned for all the .NET taxes to appear.
