OK ICANN... Get the cost of domain control up to the level needed to push the zones and all the dns lookup tables into each and every computer on the network. It's only a matter of time that the real power of the internet, the users of the system, will decide were they place their money. Get ready for subscription operators to supply this market of internet address data and watch ICANN react! Not a thing can be done to stop it.

Hey... Sounds GREAT! But, include in these the ability to update to each and every computer the dns tables for all the internet. It's possible and the providers of these tables would include the .com .net .org .info .us .biz ....anything the computer user would care to choose. So what if a gig of hard disk space and 50 megs of download are used to only update the changes. Talk about stability! Each computer would continue to work even if half the internet was gone. Domains could be registered with ICANN for say $.50 and the dns operators could sell dns updated on a subscription basis for $10.00 per year.
