The .NET Registry Fee Will INCREASE by 75 Cents
to cover the new "ICANN Tax". It is just passed
on to the Registrars.
Verisign will have to add it to .COM also to
make the accounting easier to handle.
Actually, it is easier to make it $1.00 and
include it in the new IPv6 Tax.
Now that ICANN is becoming "private", free of
the U.S. Department of Commerce, it can charge
whatever it needs to fund the ICANN Staff and
all of the people ICANN supports.
Verisign will be happy to be ICANN's collection
agent. The new $9 .NET and .COM names will be
more stable and secure. The $9 comes from looking
at $6 from Australia (down-under).
