You are incorrect in assuming that ICANN and the ITU are on different sides of the table. Anyone with any experience with the ITU can see that ISOC/IETF/IANA/ICANN is cut from the same cloth.
BOTH organizations prey on powerless consumers via corrupt telecommunication regimes. Why do you think ICANN chooses to avoid coming back to the U.S. for any meetings ? Why do you think the ISOC is building a fortress in Geneva, Switzerland ?
None of these groups can tolerate fair and free market competition, as you have in the North American market. They are irrelevant in the .USA. American consumers are educated and vote with their dollars. ICANN's self-appointed aristocracy was not voted into place by the American consumers. They are viewed as a joke.
