    The U.S. Government is going to require that Standard Accouting Practices be used in buying the rights to the .NET Franchise.

    It is estimated that 8 or 10 times earnings will be the final price.

    With 4,000,000+ names, at $6 per name per year, the profit is estimated to be about $5 per name. That results in a $20,000,000 per year profit and a $200,000,000 selling price for the .NET Franchise.

    The $500,000 Application Fee is designed to discourage outsiders, who happen to have a spare $200,000,000, from buying the .NET Franchise. Imagine someone buying an NFL team who knows nothing about football.

    This just amounts to another ICANN-run Illegal Lottery.


    The price of the lottery tickets has not been set.


    The prize is the .NET Pot-of-Gold.


    If .NET is worth $500 million, then, they would
    sell 1,000 tickets at $500,000 each. That is
    pocket-change for the Registries, Registrars
    and Resellers.
