The current first item on google's news spew is entitled: VeriSign Likely To Earn ICANN Approval for Wait-Listing Domains [technewsworld.com] It goes on to provide not much evidence for such a statement, but still... Given ICANN's erratic behaviour, including numerous examples of toadying to VeriSign (EG: the .net divestiture), and given their open and transparent secret backroom dealings (EG: the .net divestiture), one can be forgiven for accepting this as prophecy. I already explained [icannwatch.org] why this is not a Very Good Thing in terms of Security and Stability but, Hey!, if you can make a few dineros before Osama's henchmen crash the net, more power to ya.
