You could try altavista's babelfish [altavista.com] which can translate some of the most common languages, either by copying and pasting text into it or by feeding it a webpage URL. The latter is very occasionally problematic depending on the webpage coding. Note to editors. You can also install babelfish on the site to translate pages with one click, see second option [altavista.com]. Again it might be problematic for the same reason. If so, the first option might suffice. The babelfish translations aren't perfect and are sometimes so mangled as to be famously hilarious, but usually one can get the jist of the page. There are also numerous other tools out there [google.ca] but I can't speak to their utility. -g
