True, but given that it has been nearly six months since the highly publicized launch of kids.us and there are still only six active Web sites, it leads me to believe any other registrations are defensive and purchased by major conglomerates to protect their trademarks. I wouldn't expect more than... 20 active, full-blown Web sites by the end of the year.
Interestingly, of those six Web sites, which are also linked to from the directory [www.kids.us], all of them are either government run, government sponsored, or government funded.
Isn't kids.us the one NeuStar expected 100,000 registrations? Not one million, that was .US (which still is hovering around 500,000 nearly two years after its launch).
