Chris, Verisign is going to capture the market valuation of .com that is way beyond $6 per unit. You can talk about "consensus policy" and "abuse of a monopoly" until blue in the face. I will leave things like legal contract infringement and adverse effects to Internet functionality to the experts. But, at this point, I see little going on to bet against their ability to implement business models to capture the market valuation of .com that has been so well protected. Retail business models that have assumed otherwise are in harms way by their own choosing and will need to adjust. Influencing the ablity to sell "new registry services" such as .Web might be a good place to start, like 3 years ago. That's the reality, in my view. I do see a cause-effect relationship here and thus not straying...but we can agree to disagree if that's ok.
