    Shameful

This is absolutely appauling and shameful. I had no idea Afilias would stoop to such low levels of locking domain names from registration and then selling them for enormous prices for profit. Where is ICANN while this is happening? From what I can tell, these actions are not permitted in its Registry Operator Agreement with Afilias.
Moreover, Onvolite, Inc. is what I like to call an unethical, for-profit cybersquatting company. It's similar to Ultimate Search, Inc. in that they buy high profile domain names, make a standard template "search" website, and bombard users with popup and popunder advertisements. I wish ICANN would also ban this practice.Doug Mehus http://doug.mehus.info/ [mehus.info]

    Don't Forget DOMAIN.INFO and DOMAINS.INFO
    by Anonymous on Monday March 10 2003, @06:45PM (#11300)
From what I understand Moshe Fogel owns Galcomm. Hal Lubsen owns or is CEO of Domain Bank. Karl Auerbach should have been sinking his teeth into this scandal from day one (July 2001). But no. He's almost as worthless as the rest of the Directors. Where's Abril i Abril?
    by Anonymous on Tuesday March 11 2003, @05:16PM (#11306)
Here's a great opportunity to hear from ICANN Director Abril i Abril. We know he lurks in this forum, only posting corrections to the spelling of his name. But here is a serious topic, the unethical practices of a gTLD registry Director and the registrar-owners of that same registry, Afilias. For that matter, where are any of the Directors's comments on this horrible situation? They can't be bothered, after all, it's only the lowly domain name consumer who got screwed. Anyway, ICANN appears to encourage wholesale fraud by these unscrupulous players. I guess I spelled Abril's name correctly. Otherwise, he'd chime in right about now ...
