I think that this is the real challenge that ICANN needs to win now: there needs to be a change in people and a change in the attitude that they collectively use in relationships towards the rest of the Internet. Yes, process is important, checks and balances too, but more fundamentally any venture is made by people, and it is the quality, skill and attitude of those people that determine its outcome.
