Abril y Abryl, Esther Dyson, and those of the same ilk are gutless. It's easy to criticize on the way out ... too bad Abril y Abril didn't have the common decency to call a spade a spade when it mattered, when bigtime decisions were being made. You remember those decisions, don't you? The one's where gutless, scared, worthless, short-sighted Directors such as Abril y Abril made decisions the results of which harshly and negatively affected the domain buying public. You remember Abril y Abril, riding in the same Network Solutions limo (to the Verisign w/caviar parties) as the scumbags he now distances himself from? You remember Abril y Abril, sitting on his hands when ICANN suckered anyone with $50,000 into naively thinking they had a chance to run a new registry? He knew all along Ken Stubbs and Afilias would be handed a gTLD, and did nothing after documentation was provided that Afilias and it's registrar partners were infested with theives. He did nothing, but now he's a big critic. Good riddance.

I am of the same opinion as you (and sentiment) - mainly gutless cowards and the corrupt sit on the board of ICANN.
Getting on the board seems to change the personality of people.
Take Vint - this man was somebody once deserving of high praise.
His actions with ICANN shows he is now only worthy of scorn.
When he joined ICANN in this high position, I believed he would turn it around - also make it more open and honest.
He has fell in line with the rest of corrupt gutless directors.

not for nothing does the default installation of slash call anonymous contributors 'anonymous cowards.' if you're going to savage someone like amadeu in such personal terms, the very least you could do is sign your name, if only because, were you to sign your name, your tune would change. there are good reasons for anonymity, but using it as a launching pad for ad hominem isn't one of them.
