IMS made the right decision to argue on the merits of what they can do well, not what ICANN has done wrong (since the DOC obviously thinks they have done fine). Instead of harping on what folks have already heard over and over, IMS points out that the other two parts of IANA also have some room for improvement, and that IMS is in a better place to fix them than ICANN itself.

Was't IMS partnering with ISC (Vixie) to get .ORG? Is this 'bid' for IANA related to what is happening with f.root, which is cloning itself on a monthly basis? In a year it can be independent.
