I note that acbld22.org is still available; why don't you register that and use it as your site address? It would be more appropriate than the .com address for your nonprofit group, anyway.

Though, even more logical would be for the parent organization, which is at acbl.org, to give subdomains of that domain to its chapters and regions... that way they'd have well-structured addresses that had no danger of expiring or being cybersquatted. A number of other organizations do this.

    Another solution?

You can also get free services from out2.com [out2.com] -- they'll set you up a sub-section of your own (probably under Local/Adult organizations) in one or more communities of your choice and you and your users can post whatever content you want.

    Disclaimer: I'm a director of out2.com.

Dan, while this is a good suggestion, the problem still remains doesn't it? Anyone with an expired domain, whether due to registrar error or not, is subject to extortion (the riduculous fee) and loss of business. I'd be interested to see what would happen if the domain belonged to a bank or Mr. Gates himself.

I've registered acbld22.org and it's setup now. Subdomains also.

My site, acbld22.com is still down, 11 days later. Snowstorm keeps bulkregister from working.

Incredible this could happen in today's technology!
