The potentially fascinating Kremin v. ARIN case -- in which the plaintiff argued that the current system of allocating IP numbers is an anti-trust violation -- has ended with a whimper: a US District Court in California has dismissed all his claims on the grounds that they were filed several months after the statute of limitations had expired.

While final as regards the parties (unless appealed), the decision does not discuss the merits and thus provides no guidance as to whether this sort of claim has any legal validity.

Of potentially greater long-run significance is a companion order by the same court, in which it orders ARIN to give Kremen a number of IP blocks. The order is a spin-off from the seemingly endless sex.com litigation.
