Today, CFIT issued a formal statement to the committee as well as a press release citing the hearing "as another critical step" in preventing the damage the .com deal would do to small businesses and consumers.

CFIT now has their recap of the hearing linked [cfit.info] to, as well as a right sidebar with additional links. There is a two week period of public comment to follow. I wonder, if one doesn't have the right to vote in the US, which is to say a majority of internet users, that one's comments will carry equal weight regarding what is theoretically (no wonder I hate that word) a global resource.

Well, I suppose the less or (dis-)enfranchised amongst us could just use a *.com email addy and pretend to have clout (I'd suggest faking your headers too to be safe, but I very much doubt that they're that clued at the other end). -g
