What the World Needs Now?

Nathan Braun writes "Want to solve cybercrime, spam and viruses? Just authorize the .love domain.
That's what the newly formed 'dot love company' says. The idea is based, in part, on the research and ideas of Masaru Emoto, the author of The Hidden Messages in Water. For those who haven't read the book, here's the synopsis: water with favorable messages (like the word "love") responded positively, developing beautiful crystals, while water probed with negative words (like "Satan") failed to develop any crystals at all, forming hideous monstrosities instead.
Dot love believes the Internet may well respond similarly--'in kind' so to speak. It remains to be seen how this will be applied to the Internet, exactly, but the dot love company believes it's worth a try.
The dot love company is promoting .love as a sponsored Top Level Domain (or sTLD) and ask you to join in the crusade. The ''dot love movement'' (as the company's supporters are called) evidently hopes to help usher in a new age of peace, health and prosperity in this new millennium. WSIS developed into a week-long debate about who controls the Internet. In response, the dot love company says, "Just let love control. Let love rule supreme.''
