Multi-lingual Domain Names Registrars
Yahoo! to Buy 3721
posted by michael on Thursday November 20 2003, @09:12PM

dmehus writes "Yahoo! is reportedly in final stage negotiations to acquire domain name seller 3721, which sells internationalized domain names in the Chinese alphabet, for $120 million in cash and stock. A deal, according to CNET News.com, could come as early as this Friday. A successful deal would mark Yahoo!'s first foray into the domain name registration market. It does sell domain names, but only through its Yahoo! Domains property which is simply a facade for Network Solutions."

Yahoo partners with Melbourne IT, not NSI, for domains. See here [yahoo.com] for example.
