SITA Slovenska Tlacova Agentura reports that the SANET Board of Trustees says that EuroWeb
Slovakia has no mandate to deactivate Slovak Internet domains and that EuroWeb has failed to fulfill obligations resulting from its
agreements with SANET.
The SANET Board of Trustees is therefore reportedly asking the SK-NIC council, ministries of education and telecommunications to replace the Slovak top-level domain administrator. Earlier on Wednesday the SK-NIC council requested EuroWeb to
recognize it as an advisory body representing the Slovak Internet community in administrating Slovak Internet domains.
According to the report, the SK-NIC council has five members, representing the Association of Internet
Providers, Association of Web-Hosting Providers, SANET, the Cabinet Office and ICANN.
Is this the first case of an ICANN representative sitting on a ccTLD advisory council? Does this create any issues if there is a re-delegation request?
