ICANN Kept Reconsideration Decision(s?) Secret
posted by michael on Monday December 11 2006, @01:54PM
ehasbrouck writes "During the public forum in Sao Paulo, ICANN revealed that (1) the Reconsideration Commitee had secretly denied my reconsideration request as "frivolous", (2) the committee relied on a recommendation from the Ombudsman, whom I had consulted in a completely separate matter, as the basis for their decision, and (3) they decided it would "not be apprropriate" to mention this to me, on the ICANN Web site, or in any of their reports, or to post my request, despite the requirements of the Bylaws.
They didn't say how many other unposted requests might secretly have been rejected, and excluded from their reports.
My separate request for independent review remains pending.
Details in my blog."
