Laugh (or Cry) New Song: 'We've Just Reorganized ICANN'
posted by michael on Wednesday April 02 2003, @10:56AM

After a long dry spell, we bring you another wonderful ICANN song from our relentlessly anonymous source: We've Just Reorganized ICANN. Honest folks -- I do NOT know who is singing these.

    Here are the lyrics:

There's a bright CEO in our future
All our past rifts he surely can suture
We've got a new boss, we're not gathering moss
Any drop in attendance would be no great loss

    We've just reorganized ICANN
We've kept the crazies at bay
    We've got a wonderful feeling
    Everything's going our way

Though the ITU keeps calling meetings
They'll spend all of their time on the seatings
That group wants us gone, but we mean to go on
And those governments can't ever shut down our con

    We've just reorganized ICANN
We've kept the crazies at bay
    We've got a wonderful feeling
    Everything's going our way

Does it matter that nobody trusts us?
We can't think of a group that can bust us
No more global elections, we'll make the selections
Just don't try to ask us embarrassing questions!

    We've just reorganized ICANN
We've kept the crazies at bay
    We've got a wonderful feeling
    Everything's going our way

We've got governments asking to meet us
Prime Ministers often will greet us
Our fees are as high as the stars in the sky
And we might just establish new names by and by

    We've just reorganized ICANN
We'll have more staffers to pay
    We've got a wonderful feeling
    Everything's going our way

There's a chance that the ccs will leave us
And the RIRs don't quite believe us
As they head for the door we'll go on as before
You may not be happy, but please don't be sore

    We've just reorganized ICANN
We've kept the crazies at bay
    We've got a wonderful feeling
    Everything's going our way
