    NomCom ALAC appoints NomCom Reps, Chairs and Liaisons

    vbertola writes "The At Large Advisory Committee has just announced its appointments for the Nominating Committee, plus some internal appointments as Chairs and liaisons."



    "We did our best to select the best candidates, and it was very hard since in most Regions we had at least three or four quite outstanding nominees. I am confident that the people we selected will be able to identify and support good Board candidates that will act in the interest of the global Internet community. But as usual, comments are welcome."

    Don't forget that the nominating committee has 12 other voting members - most of whom are appointed by business interests. Those other twelve are more than enough to guarantee that even if the ALAC appointees act with unaniminity they will lose on every single vote within the committee.

    It is extremely important that the nominating committee adopts internal procedures, such as having cumulative voting in conjunction with the selection of multiple appointees, so that the ALAC committee members can have at least the possibility of having some of their choices put onto the board.
