fnord writes "To counterbalance all the bad news ICANNWatch has had to cover lately, here's some odd bits of namespace nuttiness in the news that may bring a smile."

Verisign has had its placeholder pages hacked. As most such pages belong to speculators, it is unlikely anyone even noticed, let alone cares. The ALSC is a prime suspect.

Lawyer Jane Mutimear, Executive Vice-President of ICANN's Intellectual Property Constituency, got some personal experience regarding dropjacking when her client's domain became the Dead Poetry Society.

Still not smiling? I'll have to send in the clones. Did you miss out at your chance to register such moneymakers as sex.com, business.com, or even sex-business.com? No problem, now you can clone them.

    Thaaat's all folks. -g

Official Internet Governance Takeover Pool Homepage

Check out the fun and games guessing when Uncle Sam finally pulls the plug on ICANN and assumes control once and for all. Win great prizes, have a lot of fun, meet new friends! Send your guesses as to the date George W. gives Esther and company the star spangled boot by sending e-mail to the pool maintenance guy Bob Allisat.
